The Impact of the Tulsa Massacre
In the immediate aftermath of the massacre, the community was virtually obliterated. The story here is really one that has a longer arc than the massacre. People locally encouraged other people to rebuild,. using milk crates, or whatever they could find to rebuild. And they did that, and they did it against extraordinary odds. In terms of integration, it's important to understand the economics of the community as a black business community. It was created as such by necessity because of segregation.
