I got very, very interested in early american history. I wrote the three books on various aspects of it. Finally, late in life, decided now was the time to do joseph smith. Sooyou kind of mapped out, conceptually, that you were going to pursue colonial American history. And i didn't feel any great need to go back to joseph Smith until rod estlan came along.
