Adam de Norton is not a real person. His name is actually borrowed from a real family who lived in Hampshire during the 1250s. Like a lot of these people, we don't really know who they were or what they did. But I like the name and I liked their heraldic arms. They have this very distinctive shield which is recorded a few decades later,. It's green with a rampant golden line. So I'd use the name, really.
