Shadow of night

Book • 2012
Shadow of Night is the second book in the All Souls trilogy, published in 2012.

The novel picks up where A Discovery of Witches left off, with Diana Bishop, a historian and powerful witch, and Matthew Clairmont, a centuries-old vampire, traveling back to 1591 Oxford and Elizabethan London.

Their mission is to find a witch to help Diana understand and control her magical powers and to locate Ashmole 782, a magical manuscript known as the Book of Life.

While navigating a world of spies, secrets, and the School of Night—a group of Matthew's old friends—Diana and Matthew must contend with Matthew's complex past and the dangers of witch hysteria in the 1590s.
