The Guinness World Records is a British reference book published annually, listing world records in human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.

The book was conceived by Sir Hugh Beaver to settle pub arguments and was first compiled by twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter.

It has become one of the top-selling copyrighted books in publishing history, with over 150 million copies sold in more than 40 languages.

Each edition includes a selection of new and updated records, covering a wide range of topics from competitive challenges to unusual facts and achievements.
