Christmas Eve

Set six months after Battle Ground, the story follows Harry Dresden and his dog Mouse as they struggle to assemble a bicycle for Harry's daughter Maggie on Christmas Eve at the Carpenter home.

Harry receives visits from Queen Mab, who gifts a magical ring for Maggie granting temporary Winter influence and playing music; Molly Carpenter, revealing that battle-related medical and funeral costs have been covered; and Kringle (Santa Claus), who brings a nostalgic mug evoking childhood memories with Harry's father.

The tale blends bittersweet reflections on recent events, family, and holiday magic.
