Mother earth

Mother Earth was the pioneering journal of the Soil Association, launched in 1946, which addressed emerging concerns such as factory farming, antibiotics in agriculture, food additives, and soil biology over chemistry.

Founded by Lady Eve Balfour, it featured contributions from organic pioneers like Sir Albert Howard and emphasized composting, biological pest control, and soil fertility experiments.

The journal played a crucial role in establishing the principles of the organic movement during its early decades.
